The things you eat can change your personality quite dramatically, actually, or at least how you act, regardless. You may still be the same person, but your actions are totally different. It can certainly affect how agitated you are, and how you respond to things, even if those wouldn't 'normally' bother you.

This whole concept fascinates me... *thinks*

I've seen a TV show where a poison was used as an interrogation method. If the person would talk they would (apparently) be given the antidote.

What if you had a poison that made it so you couldn't stop running, no matter how hard you tried?

You would eventually collapse from exhaustion. :P

Indeed.

Unless the poison had a very powerful effect.

Oh! Oh! Oh! Choose me! *raises hand high in the air*

So, I know this is from a more sci-fi/drama show, but I'll say it anyways. There was an Incredible Hulk episode where Banner had to work on disposing a container that had some sort of poisonous gas or something. I don't remember the details. Anyways, you couldn't smell it or anything, but the container was leaking. At first it seemingly had no effects. And then it caused blindness. And then would eventually lead to death. So it was a sort of slow-working poison that didn't cause the characters to immediately fall dead.

And this time also allowed the characters time to work on formulating an antidote, too. They had to try and figure it out before the poison ran its course.

I hope that helps! :D

I'm still not sure, once you don't have enough energy to move you won't. But it could trick your mind to think that you are still running!

Ooh, that's a cool idea...

Some foods can be very poisonous to a particular person's system. I can expoundify (or try to!) if anyone wants.. :)

That would be very true particularly in auto immune systems where the immune systems overreact.

*nods* And if you knew the person, you could poison them at a dinner or something, and not other people. At least in theory; not all plans go according to plan, y'know.

Rhododendron bark kills you very slowly... I'm trying to think of more... (I make poisons and potions as a hobby...)

I thought of one. Most mushrooms in this world are poisonous. Serve your enemy, he'll think you're very kind :dieshappy: (he won't go with out torture... it causes throwing up, severe head-ache etc.)

Eeeheeheeeheheemwahahahaaaaaa!! :0 I LIKE this THREAD!! I was just thinking about poison, actually...
How 'bout somebody stepping on a stonefish? (although...they'd die in two hours....hopefully that wasn't an important character!)
Rhododendron, huh? Fascinating... :dieshappy: I have too much fun with fiction and poison.....
Let's see: Death caps and destroying angel mushrooms are my go-to for poisoning *fictional* people, although I also enjoy neurotoxins, (specifically snake venom :) ) Ohohoh another good one is Sydney Funnel Web spiders. They're interesting because their poison (atracotoxin, I think), is noxious to people but not most other mammals. Not that I'm advocating Sydney Funnel webs in y'all's stories, because "they are repulsive."
hmm...what about a poison that makes your feet sting all the time?

Oh, weird. That's kinda cool. I mean, that way an ecologist could kill as many people as he waned without damaging all the local fauna!

You got some good ideas. * files away information *

*laughs* We have too many evil non-descript scientists anyway. High-time we saw a psychotic ecologist. *nodnod*

This. *dies laughing* XD

I like the idea of being able to poison one group and not another... If you could isolate one person who was weaker, you could kill/injure them without alerting the other people around them. It might be particularly effective with airborne poisons...

Or perhaps a combination poison? The two poisons aren't lethal by themselves, but when both are active in the person's body, will kill that person. The trigger poison could be administered through the air, and would only kill the person who had already received the primer poison.

Yes, that is quite the plan. It might backfire or something, and also activate in certain people based on their genetic structure, which would actually probably be more helpful because it might just look like a plague.
