I wanted to be a mom, a dolphin trainer, a veterinary technician, a veterinarian, a zookeeper, a falconer, an ecologist, and a Lewis/Tolkien expert. In that order as I aged.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread Kitra!

The only things I can think of right now that I had wanted to be were, a farmer, paleontologist, archeologist, and a private pilot for the jet my dad might get for his business.

I would love to travel the world but that would have to happen before I'm married as family, work, and of course Church become the priorities at that point. Right now I'm working for my dad and making films. I'll have that farm before I'm married. :D

When I was younger, I had a lot of ideas. All of them still appeal to me, in some way or another. But I obviously can't have all these jobs. I'd never be able to handle it. xD

In no particular order:

- A lion or a wolf (I was young, don't laugh).
- A veterinarian.
- A zoologist.
- An archaeologist.
- A treasure-hunter.
- A soldier (Marine, I think).
- An author.
- A pilot.
- A filmmaker.
- An actor
- A psychologist/counselor.
- Probably other stuff I'm forgetting.

As of right now, the two jobs I most dream of are being an author and a filmmaker/actor (preferably actor).

Those are my real dreams, I think. I jumped from idea to idea, but 'author/writer' was always a constant. As for being an actor or filmmaker, I only decided those were career choices I wanted when I was about ten - old enough to finally know just how films were made and how the actors did what they did.

I may not have had that dream for as long as I have the one about being a writer. But I... it's hard to describe. I just get this feeling whenever I think about the prosect of working in film. Like it makes my heart happy. Something I didn't really feel with any of the other career ideas.

So that's what I'm going for. I'm well aware that it's difficult to get into the filmmaking (and the writing) businesses, and that it's definitely difficult to get money for it.

I'll keep working at it, but make sure I have a different job in mind; one that pays steadily. Just until I can achieve what I've dreamed of achieving.

(And I still want to be a treasure-hunter, for what it's worth. Haha.)

When I was younger I wanted to be a mermaid. Especially after watching The Little Mermaid 1 and 2. I would even go in the bathroom and mix different colored soaps trying to find just the right potion, but what I ended up with was slippery soapy legs, a huge mess, and no tail. :bawl:
