A deep, heavy hood, with a vast, ponderous, cloak dragging behind.
A volcanic eruption miles below ground.
Staring into a clear, blue sky, without any darkness of night beyond it.
The shadow of a stormfront that stretches from horizon to horizon, towering to the midst of the heavens, thundering without lightning thunder as deep as the earth itself.
Feeling the heartbeat of the earth.
A wave rising into the sky as high and as heavily as a volcanic eruption.
The earth moving through space under your feet.
A bottomless well, feeding the roots of an endless forest.
The abyss of a towering cloud.
The single beat of a drum that cracks every thing on earth made of glass or earthenware, and splits every shield and piece of of armor.
Stabbing a spear into the ground, then feeling it pulled deeper as if by a hand from below.
The weight of space on the earth.
The weight of the sunlight on the hills.
A glance that bows trees.
A heavy spider sitting in the center of a far spreading web, feeling every tremor of anything that touches the strands.
The voice of the earth that could collapse every dam and reverse every wind, yet the earth never speaks.
The drumming of the butt ends of many staffs on the ground in a solemn ritual.
Seeing the sky and clouds reflected inside a polished, silver basin.
A vacant throne in a busy palace.
Counting down from infinity, never to reach zero.
Thoughtfully playing with a grass blade, tracing it down its threadlike root into the earth.
A broad, heavy fan.
The horse of a knight fighting riderless in a battle to avenge his master’s death.
Feeling the pull of the moon in your heart.
The horn of the rhinoceros.
A standard bearer marching through the wilderness, alone, with his banner flying high.
The adamantine silence of the desert.
The forehead of a clan chieftain.
A ship so heavy that no current can move it, with sails so heavy no wind can fill them.
A wide-spread battle turning the ground into mire, sinking into it, continuing to fight when submerged, until they all die, remaining forever as they were in their struggle.
Putting on a helm in a dark room, hearing the sounds that the long dead wearers of the helm heard in their day.
Tracking the path of a wingless dragon.
The echo of an earthquake returning from the stars.
Uprooting the world ash tree.
Lying down with the hills for your pillows.
Centaurs charging in the forefront of a battle.
The unseen mind of the earth beneath our feet.
At sea, something huge and shadowy seen in the darkness of a great storm.

What do you think?
What parts stand out to you? Does it give you any ideas? Do you have a question about some part? Does any of it remind you of something?

Please critique!
